We have a huge array of events, entertainment and activities going on at Dorchester at Christmas. We are certain that you will find something for everyone in the family and here are just a few of them -

Who are TVOAV:Events?

TVOAV:Events is a small non-profit charity fundraising group based in Dorchester, Dorset. Born from a popular local comedy dvd production called "The Video of all Videos" we were proud to work over a period of five years to raise money for the Kingfisher Childrens Ward at Dorset County Hospital and Make-A-Wish Foundation, where we donated dozens of toys on Christmas Eve 2014 and over £2000 in cash to our charities over the whole project.

Our next chapter meant we all had different paths in life and this meant that another comedy dvd would prove immensely difficult (it takes an awful lot to put together) and so along came TVOAV:Events, the same morals are there but this time we are running charity fundraising events that bring happiness to people whilst raising much needed vital funds for our reliable children's hospitals and charities.

What is "Dorchester at Christmas" ?

We set up Dorchester at Christmas to bring something different to our local town, we have had the same festive events here for many years in a row and we are not intending to stand as a criticism of these great events but to add a whole new type of event - you can expect to find live performances, unique and locally sourced stalls and games, along with a little bit of added flair that you won't find anywhere else! Perfect for the whole family and what's best is that you will be helping to raise important funds for local and national charities that need it most.

Which charities are you supporting?

For 2015 we are supporting two much loved charities - firstly our local Kingfisher Ward at Dorset County Hospital whereby one or two of us have spent time as children ourselves, a truly great local ward who put the children's needs way above anything else - unfortunately during 2015 there has been discussion over whether it may be closed however in the meantime there are still children needing expert care and we support this charity proudly!

Our second charity is Great Ormond Street Children Hospital in London, not a year goes by where we don't see images on TV of the amazing work they do caring for often very sick children, I remember waking up and watching a TV show on Christmas Day morning the about this hospital, and I remember watching it the whole way through before I even went downstairs for the first time that morning - we often forget that not everyone gets to wake up in their familiar and comfortable surroundings at Christmas.
